Minister

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management performs administrative, professional and other tasks within the jurisdiction of the Herzegovina-Neretva County/Canton (hereinafter referred to as: the County) relating to: Direct implementation of county laws and other county regulations, as well as administrative and other professional tasks entrusted to this ministry by law and other regulations of BiH and the Federation; ensures the implementation of county laws and other county regulations when certain administrative tasks have been transferred to city and municipal administration bodies; administrative supervision over the implementation of laws and other regulations; monitors the situation in the areas of its jurisdiction; makes proposals for resolving individual issues and is responsible for the situation in the areas; protection and use of agricultural and forest land; protection of agricultural plants and products from pathogens, pests and weeds; tasks in the field of winemaking, viticulture and fruit growing, keeping legally prescribed registers and registers; the field of production and trade of seeds and planting material; production and improvement of livestock and fisheries; veterinary medicine; protection of animal health; organization and implementation of veterinary activities; production of health-correct animal feed; animal identification, domestic production protection policy; encouraging exports and foreign investments; implementation of incentive policy measures; agricultural advisory service; breeding and selection work in animal husbandry; improvement of production in forestry, cultivation, protection, arrangement and improvement of forests, condition of wood stock, exploitation of forests; afforestation of degraded and coppice forests, bare forests and karst; use of natural resources; creation and monitoring of research projects in all fields; participation in determining the global development strategy of the County; hunting and hunting economy; surface and underground water management; determination of water management policy and strategy; adopting water management plans and programs of measures to achieve good water condition, sustainable use of water, ensuring fair access to water, encouraging social and economic development, protecting water-related ecosystems, reducing the risk of floods and other negative impacts of water, ensuring public participation in decision-making related to water; providing expert opinions, explanations and instructions; inspection supervision within its scope and other tasks in accordance with the law.
