The Institute for Agricultural Advisory Service and Plant Protection, as an administrative organization within the ministry, performs administrative, professional and other tasks related to the implementation of laws, regulations and other general acts within its jurisdiction; professional assistance to farmers and other services necessary for organizing successful agricultural production; specialist work in the office and in the field; monitoring production technology; favorable credit arrangements; collecting data on the occurrence and distribution of plant pests; determining deadlines and methods for combating and preventing plant diseases and pests; providing proposals for resolving plant protection issues; monitoring the occurrence of economically significant diseases and pests, especially quarantine diseases and pests; preparing expert analyses and reports; participating in international expert cooperation; providing expert opinions, explanations and instructions; expert lectures, consultations; demonstration experiments; providing assistance in the reconstruction of family farms; tasks of promoting selection in livestock farming, introducing and maintaining a central register of all types of livestock, testing the production characteristics of cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, horses (milk production control, breeding production, tests and evaluation of the exterior of livestock), processing breeding and selection data and calculating breeding values ​​for all livestock breeding, protection and preservation of rare and endangered livestock breeds in the County; managing and coordinating the implementation of livestock breeding programs; other tasks specified by law and other regulations.
